Thank you for your interest in becoming a Faculty Affiliate at the CSUN Health Equity Research and Education (HERE) Center. The HERE Center is dedicated to improving health among historically marginalized communities through research, education, community-academic partnerships, and advocacy.

If you are interested in joining our Faculty Affiliate community for the first time, please also fill out this application to get started. If you are a CSUN faculty who has collaborated on at least one of the grants/research projects with one of the current or previous HERE Center Faculty Researchers (HERE Center leadership included), please also complete the application to express your interest in continuing as a HERE Center Faculty Affiliate.

Why Become a HERE Center Faculty Affiliate:
  • Eligible to apply and be awarded once for the HERE Center’s Medtronic Supplemental Funding and Travel Fund. 
  • Increased visibility via the HERE center website (e.g., research biography and dissemination of your research to be included on the HERE center website).
  • Networking opportunities with HERE Center faculty and community collaborators, which may result in:
    • mentor-mentee relationships,
    • grant collaborations which leverage HERE Center infrastructure
  • Eligible to apply and become a HERE Center Researcher after one year of being our Faculty Affiliate. Learn more about the benefits and eligibility of becoming a HERE Center Researcher here.
  • Receive a one-time grant application review by one or more of the HERE Center Researchers.
Eligibility:
  • Research agenda aligned with the HERE center’s mission and vision.
  • Open to tenured, tenure-track, FERP and lecturer faculty at CSUN.
If Accepted as a HERE Center Faculty Researcher, You Are Required to:
  • Show commitments in community-partnered participatory or community-based research, health equity, or health disparities research.
  • Be willing to provide a workshop/talk about your research project to the HERE Center students if you are awarded with either the Medtronic Supplemental Funding or the Travel Fund.
